Teasing with some testers

Hey gang! I have some exciting projects and announcements upcoming and wanted to post a cheeky peek - nothing major but a quick hello while I continue to dabble with my mess!

Picked up a cracking bargain at a charity shop, the purple clock in the picture which I plan to alter with some stamps - I also have a funky project with some candles and more of my gorgeous magnolias which I'd like to try my hand at

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! See you all soon!

Totally not ME, part 1

So I spoke a while back about my ME board and I'm pleased to say its well underway, a reminder that my ME board takes shape like this:

Well I got very excited for my first one, especially because I SO love The Paper Shelter image I've used 'a little bit grumpy' she is so CUTE and as part of my ME board she reflects me completely... Saying that, it's a real flower girly board so unlike me at the same time, I'm quite pleased with it but it seemed to take ages to put together - I seem to really struggle with matching papers together - nothing ever goes - I need help with this! All i need to do is add some holes at the top so it can eventually be linked with the other finished boards for hanging

Recipe:
One board. Some PP and a pink doily background. Coloured her using my ProMarkers and I'm really pleased with how she looks, I feel my colouring is getting better - yay!

I also used some gorgeous glitter ribbon from my local store and all the flowers are from The Ribbon Girl, I have a box full and most of my time was spent trying to pick which ones to use!
I also distressed/inked and cut the sentiment with my portrait after using a sketch pen to write it, love the pens and especially love the font used for 'Grumpy' - heat embossed the S just to test it out and also added some PINK stickles for extra bling
I had a little play with a wooden butterfly too, I inked on it using my Tim holtz ink and then heat embossed some pink power (before and after pic below) quite a nice effect actually!

So that's that! I'm looking forward to starting another of my boards but I also have some altered projects in mind
I'm also in need of ordering some new card for my markers and while I'm at it may just treat myself to a few more pens to build up my collection a little more as I'm sure this will also help with some shading and blending (or so I'll tell the other half when he gets the bill) Haha

Challenges: Of course The Paper Shelter and their new September 2013 DT call!

Boxing it up

I whipped up my first box recently to store my new silhouette sketch pens, I felt the KennyK image was perfect for its purpose! It was only a very quick project using some scrap PP cut using my portrait, some buttons which I challenged myself to use as I used to really hate them and some ribbon, also used to hate using... I also got a bit stickle happy to add some detail. Now, thanks to my little box and image, my sketch pens are nice and safe :)

its all about ME.... in progress

Afternoon bloggers and what wonderful sunshine again this weekend! love topping up the tan and making use of it while its here!

Today ive touched on a few items, nothing solid but i have a few projects on the go and wanted to share a couple... firstly is my cute little box in prep to be altered, this is such a perfect size box for my Silhouette Sketch Pens! so ive based this with black acrylic and plan to add some papers, ribbons, and a very cute and perfectly fitting charm I received from The Ribbon Girl

Haha, ive just noticed my other progress work of my little clay duck in the background of the last pic - silly duck! always trying to steal the attention!

Secondly and a bigger project that im much looking forward to is my ME board! As I said in my last post, I need to start making things that I enjoy, and likely things i'll keep - so i thought a ME board would be perfect! its very much in progress but here is the initial idea... i love these digis, I have used stamps from TGF, Saturated Canary, and The Paper Shelter as i feel these each reflect an aspect of ME, I shall be adding a quote, once again to tie them into the theme of ME.. and some other fun stuff before eventually attaching ribbon and hanging these together... i cant wait to start colouring these images up with my trusty Promarkers and get to decorating! Thanks to my Portrait for being able to trace and cut these fab images, obviously I still need to cut around the SC images as these were a not quite designed as well for the silhouette to trace and cut

watch this space for future updates, thanks for looking and also Welcome to my new followers - please feel free to leave comments, their always welcome!

Back with a Flourish

Hi bloggers, back from my camping trip! wanted a share a few things but unfortunately this is yet another non project post!

although I have been away and unable to craft, its probably been a good thing as ive been in a hole! i haven't felt inspired by much, so i'm glad i've had time away so i don't try to force anything, ive also decided to focus my crafts, now im back, more around challenges that inspire me rather than just trying to enter as many as I can..
I also don't win any haha, and ive not be chosen for the few design teams i applied for, which im sure isn't anything personal, there are so many great crafters out there.. but im quite competitive and want to be the best at what I do so its difficult to not be at the standard I want to be, just yet. but ill get there! anyway im starting to sound like a brat, and I digress...

i dont really give cards to people ether, so much of the cards I make end up in my folder, which is a bit of a waste! so im going to focus more on things i can keep and display, altered art, canvass, etc. my head is finally bursting with ideas so im glad i'll get some time in my craft room tomorrow

As a result of one of the DT's I applied for Flourish With A Bling, based in Australia, i received this lovely gift in the mail today and wanted to share, it was so sweet of them to do this - so a huge thanks, and check out their link if you haven't already!

until tomorrow, crafters

Pretty things

Have to share my latest bag of pretty things before I shoot off on my camping trip. Must admit I can't wait to get back and stuck in next weekend and enter a few challenges! I have a few new TGF, kennyK, saturated canary and paper shelter digi's to play with too!
Anyway my haul was from ribbon girl (link in post below) really quick delivery and really nice quality items! I probably should have ordered ribbon from there with that being their little speciality and all but I'll e using them again - I'm also checking out their challenge blog much more as its great to see the work the DT do with the products!

Oh, also have some things to alter!

Happy blogging all - see you all next weekend!
